Silsden suffer fifth-successive postponement

Silsden were left kicking their heels again on Saturday when a frozen pitch ruled out their North West Counties Premier Division home clash with AFC Liverpool.

Silsden have played only once this year and have suffered five successive postponements and seven in all this season.

Matches with Liverpool have been particularly jinxed. Their game on Merseyside fell victim to a waterlogged pitch as early as August 27.

Club officials took advantage of Saturday’s postponement to carry out drainage work at the Asda Foundation Stadium. Silsden will be hoping for better luck when they travel to Glossop North End on Saturday.
