Lake search teams find a body
7:30am Thursday 2nd September 2010
Search teams looking for a missing Beamsley man have found a body.
Fifty-five-year-old Mark Bryant was last seen fishing in Ullswater on Tuesday afternoon and, when he failed to return to the campsite where he was staying, the alarm was raised.
A large scale search began involving police, coastguard, mountain rescue and the underwater search teams and his dingy was located during the early hours of Wednesday between the pier and the mouth of Glenridding beck.
And last night a body was found.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “A body has been found in the lake. That body has been recovered and has been informally identified as the missing man.”
